The Child Companion is an interactive system designed for the mediated communication of young children’s emotional needs in the classrooms. It comprises: (1) giving young children a voice to express their perceived emotions, (2) conceptualizing ambient interaction modality to address children’s self-reporting of their contextual emotions on-the-go, (3) adding playfulness through child’s personalization of the emotion companion and use of audio-visual material, and (4) improving children’s emotional wellbeing.
